Summer Reading Club

How it works (VIDEO: Summer Reading Club Intro)

The program runs from June 28th – August 13th, with weekly activities for all ages available at (we’ll help you out with weekly Facebook videos).

  • Register at (or in person) starting on June 15th
  • Pick up an activity bag at the library
  • Follow our Smithers SRC Facebook page for weekly videos and handy links
  • Start reading and investigating!

Check every week for new activities (categorized by age range). Also stay tuned for possible in-person activities and events! Updates will be posted on our website and the SRC Facebook page.

What can I read?

You can read books, graphic novels, comics, magazines, and listen to storytellers or audiobooks. Download the free Libby app by OverDrive to borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, and even electronic picture books.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous financial support of the Town of Smithers, Wetzin’kwa Community Forest Corporation, CUPE BC, and the Province of British Columbia (Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Public Libraries Branch). CUPE BC has given $50,000 to ensure that the BC Summer Reading Club continues to award medals to children across the province who participate in this successful, inclusive and much loved program.
