Summer Reading Club

Do you have what it takes to crack the case? Kids of all ages are invited to use their investigative skills during the 2021 Summer Reading Club.

Follow our SRC Facebook Page for all the latest updates, facts, and fun!

How it works

Registration begins on June 15th! The program runs from June 28th – August 13th, with weekly activities for all ages available at bcsrc.ca (or in your activity bag).

  • Register at bcsrc.ca (or in person) starting on June 15th
  • Pick up an activity bag at the library
  • Start reading and investigating!

Check bcsrc.ca every week for new activities (categorized by age range). Remember to follow our Smithers SRC Facebook page for handy links to the weekly activities and other cool opportunities! Stay tuned for possible in-person activities and events! Updates will be posted on our website and the SRC Facebook page.

What can I read?

You can read books, graphic novels, comics, magazines, and listen to storytellers or audiobooks. Download the free Libby app by OverDrive to borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, and even electronic picture books.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous financial support of the Town of Smithers, CUPE BC, and the Province of British Columbia (Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Public Libraries Branch). CUPE BC has given $50,000 to ensure that the BC Summer Reading Club continues to award medals to children across the province who participate in this successful, inclusive and much loved program.
