BV Youth Writers (Tweens)

We are pleased to announce the return of the BV Youth Writers, a drop-in program run by local writers, Emily Bulmer and Melissa Sawatsky. In partnership with the Smithers Public Library, they will run a series of workshops for young writers between the ages of 9 and 12 (roughly grades 4-7) on the dates listed below.

This program will focus on creativity, writing time, and some structured sessions on particular aspects of writing short stories and poetry. We will promote participation, sharing, and getting that pen on the page. Participants will be encouraged to submit their work to the 2nd annual Quill Inc. Anthology, which will be launched in spring 2018.

Fall Tween Sessions (ages 9 to 12) are scheduled for the following Fridays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.:

November 10th
November 24th
December 8th

This program is free and drop-in. If your child would like to try it out, they are welcome to come to as many or as few sessions as they would like. For more information, contact Emily and Melissa at bvyouthwriters@gmail.com.
