No program on February 18th (Family Day)
Baby Time is a group experience for parents or caregivers and their children from infancy up to about 18 months. The program focuses on learning rhymes, songs, stories, and finger plays to share together. Some easy signing is also introduced to assist pre-verbal children with communication. These activities stimulate a child’s developing brain and are an important first step toward enhanced literacy and cognitive abilities.
Baby Time is also a unique opportunity for parents and caregivers to develop a valuable tool kit of activities to use with their children. At 18 months, children progress to Toddler Time. While Baby Time is geared toward newborn to 18-month-old children, parents can choose whether Baby Time or Toddler Time works best for them and their child. If you have more than one child under the age of 3, come to the group that suits you best, or come to both!
Sessions are free, drop-in, and open to all parents and caregivers of young children. Contact Sandra at the library for more information.
Also, watch for other children’s programs and events throughout the year:
- Summer Reading Club runs during the summer months in July and August
- Lego Time runs all year on Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Thank you to the Friends of the Smithers Library for providing funds for snack time.
