Friends of the Library


Friends of the Library support the library, its programs and collection.

The library is an important asset to our community. Friends play an important role assisting the Library to fulfill its mission and goals.

Some highlights of our recent activities:

In 2015, Friends brought in over $20,000.00 in grants & fundraising to the library.

The hugely popular Annual Book Sale alone netted over $3,500.00.

Friends also help to publicize and champion the library through activities such as booths at both the Northwest Trade Expo & at Bulkley Valley Exhibition.

Friends have been instrumental in raising funds for:

  • Tech Kits – 5 new sets in 2016
  • 3D Scanner
  • Programs & Events   Book Lovers’ Night Out, Roy Henry Vickers, Poets Unplugged
  • New Library Sign
  • Audio Visual System – projector, screen and mobile sound system for presentations, movies & events such as Live Screening of The Tragically Hip concert from Kingston, Ontario.
  • 2015 Used Book Sale raised  over $3,500 for the Library.
  • Books for Babies – Newborns receive a book bags including a board book
  • Teen Programming – new in 2016: Volunteens!
  • Centennial History Project – updated and expanded the local history collection
  • DVD Collection – huge boost to the DVD collection
  • Children’s Programs – more programs, snacks

A library is the expression of the community’s vision and creativity
